Our Secondary Systems Planning team is responsible for the Asset Management of a fascinating asset portfolio, which includes secondary assets, HVDC, dynamic reactive power, protection, intelligent electronic devices, capacitors and reactors. The team oversees and directs:
About the opportunity
We have a fantastic opportunity for an early in career Asset Planner, with a particular interest in Protection and Automation, to join us in Wellington or Christchurch.
Working as part of an experienced and highly collaborative team who are invested in your success, you'll support the delivery and development of asset class management plans, provide input to the expenditure portfolios, and assist in the development of standards and sustainable works plans.
The work you do matters as you:
Over the next 12 - 18 months you'll contribute to a number of major projects e.g. Digital Substations; Special Protection Schemes enabling renewable generation; Auto Reclose initiatives; Big data on assets; and Solar Storm resilience work.

This role is ideal for an Electrical Engineering Graduate with ~2 years of work experience, or an Asset Planner who is keen to pick up and learn a new asset class.
An understanding of the energy sector and assets applicable to the sector is desirable, but not essential for the right candidate.
