Shell is an international energy company with expertise in the exploration, production, refining, and marketing of oil and natural gas, and the manufacturing and marketing of chemicals.
They use advanced technologies and take an innovative approach to help build a sustainable energy future. They also invest in power, including from low-carbon sources such as wind and solar; and new fuels for transport, such as advanced biofuels and hydrogen.
The purpose of the Materials Scheduler role is to plan and schedule all inbound components to a blending facility in North America to ensure that components are available to deliver the bulk and pack production plan each day. This role has an indirect influence to ensure a high customer service index (CSI) score as well as meeting internal supply chain metrics such as inventory targets (DIO) and on-time/in-full delivery (OTIF). Some of the materials schedulers will also interact with the third-party plants that Shell uses in the network to manage both components as well as finish good planning.
These roles will be focused on one to two plants for the daily work but will also be expected to be able to cover other areas of the US network as needed and work within the E2E Performance Team to deliver team targets. A Materials Scheduler will also be expected to work with the operations team at the plant(s) to ensure their components are available for the daily production schedule as well as communicate back to a broader team if there are delays/changes that impact product availability. As such, the Materials Scheduler has a very significant impact on customer experience and overall supply chain performance for pack and bulk finished goods, as if the components are not available then the production schedule will be negatively impacted, which will filter down to product availability concerns for our customers. This is mostly an operational and tactical role, but a successful applicant will also need to show commercial knowledge when taking into account inventory targets for their components.
The US Lubricants packed network consists of 6 Lube Oil Blend Plants and 7 Regional Distribution Centers, with pack and bulk products moving amongst all of these sites daily. Overall, the US Lubricants business generates >$1B C3 margin and has a strong growth agenda to try and double profitability by 2025.
