This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic fintech industry, combining risk management, compliance, and legal research. You will work closely with the Governance team, contributing to critical projects related to risk assessment, regulatory compliance, data privacy, and research on various regulatory compliance policies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the risk management process, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring.
  • Support the rollout and implementation of Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and IT Risk Assessment (ITRA).
  • Assist in compliance functions, such as compliance advisory, awareness material creation, and compliance testing.
  • Help provide support and training to employees to foster a risk-aware culture.
  • Conduct research on emerging trends in risk management and compliance, particularly within the fintech sector.
  • Conduct legal research on data protection regulations, contract law, corporate governance, and other compliance-related topics relevant to the fintech industry.
  • Summarize research findings and prepare reports or memoranda as needed.
  • Provide recommendations to ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards.
  • Assist in creating Regulations Playbooks for expansion projects in Southeast Asian countries (e.g., Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field, or enrolled in a Juris Doctor (JD) program at an accredited law school.
  • Strong interest in risk management, compliance, data privacy, contract law, and corporate governance, particularly within the fintech industry.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and conceptual skills, with a data-driven approach.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of statistical software is an advantage.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Good communication skills and able to speak in front of groups, with the ability to lead meetings and take command of discussions.
  • You possess the ability to work and establish working relationships with different teams.
  • You have the ability to prioritize assignments and effectively handle multiple tasks and activities on a daily basis.
