ING Hubs Philippines started in 2013. Their culture has always been built about empowering our employees in both life and work.

Pros and cons of working at ING Hubs Philippines

Pros

  • The best thing about working in my company is how we are given abundant opportunities to build individually and as a team in the specific department you are in. The liberty to just "do your thing"

  • I believe the best thing about working in ING HUBS PH is the opportunities for career growth. They offer a learning platform for us to utilize for upskilling and skill enhancement. Additionally, the management actively listens to their employees regarding their career aspirations. Furthermore, the company also offers extracurricular activities to promote work-life balance for their employees. Lastly, the company has a great working environment with positive values.

  • The work-life balance is great. People respect your time and you are able to rest whenever you need to. With such a great work environment, we are able to meet our targets while not sacrificing our personal time.

  • The training is the best thing for me both the instructor-led training and the self-paced training really gave me a lot of knowledge about my field even though I'm a fresh graduate. I have learned so much in the training and it had led me to passing my certification. Another thing would be the culture of the company, since I feel like everyone listens to each other and everyone is helping each other to succeed their goals.

  • Well-planned program that enables us to accelerate growth. Plenty of opportunities that allows us to work not just with nearby colleagues but also those from other locations of ING. We also had talks with senior management where they shared their experiences and answered our questions.

Cons

    • The worst thing about working in ING I would consider would be the traffic considering the manila rush hour, but the location negates this considering the public transportation available.

    • With my role, the major limitation can be the high responsibility of delivering a working application that is crucial to millions of users, which can be quite daunting and stressful. Additionally, the need for continuous growth and professional development to keep up with current technology advancements is demanding. Thus, there’s a need to stay a step ahead.

    • There are times when requests for installing software required for certain tasks take too much time. While this is understandable from a security and IT risk perspective, it may consume time that can be used for productive work.

    • The department I work with has a tendency to develop siloed, specialized knowledge, which is not great if you are leaning into leadership positions. Workload can be intense.

    • It's a personal thing, but as a fresh graduate I would've wanted to experience more in office interactions with my colleagues. We have a hybrid setup where we're only required to go four times in a month, and I think a lot of communication skills, and relationships that I could've learned and gained in this new work from home era may have been lost.
