Your role & responsibilities

This role will help grow your knowledge of the latest security threats, technologies, and best practices to help keep Equinix secure. In addition to a focus on Information Security, this role will work closely with Users, Network, System infrastructure, and Application teams to provide guidance and best practice solutions, to work on problems of a diverse scope where analysis of a situation requires evaluation and judgment.

Security Operations

• Acknowledge emails and tickets sent to Infosec & Infosec-Operations.
• Create security incident reports to document detections, findings, and remediations performed.
• Assign / Escalate tickets/emails to the appropriate team.
• Assist security operations analysts in documenting solutions, processes, or procedures and present them in writing, verbally on the phone, or in person.

Security Engineering

• Utilize logs and analysis tools to assist in Cyber threat detection and incident response activities as required.
• Provides advice and guidance to users and cross-IT functions on the best Information Security practices.

Security Architecture

• Assist Security Operations analysts in performing proof-of-concept on the latest security technologies.
• Recommend tuning security tools to improve detection and response.

Training & development

You will be assigned a project and work directly with teams to gain real-world experience, contribute to the business, and impact the digital world. Gain practical work experience by working on real business challenges and impactful projects. You will be supported throughout your journey by your manager, mentor, and an assigned buddy. You will also have access to resources, tools, and events aimed at supporting your comprehensive development.

About you

Requirements and qualifications:

• 3rd / 4th year in a college degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or an equivalent combination of course work.
• Available to commit to internship via University OJT or via the form of the elective module (Flexible start date between June - September 2024).
• Graduating in 2025 is preferred.
• Based in Manila.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of Network Infrastructure and Protocols.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of diverse Operating systems such as Windows, and Unix-based OS’ (to include AIX, Linux flavors, and MacOS) is preferred.
