Finance Accounting Intern (Jul 2024)

Your role

The accountant will play a crucial role in managing and ensuring the accuracy of the Prepaids, PO Accruals, and Intercompany Transaction accounting, contributing to financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and posts journal entries in Prepaids, PO Accruals, and Intercompany areas.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate classes or accrual requests
• Prepare Global Balance sheet recons.
• Assist in preparing documentation for SOX-related tasks
• Assist in ensuring compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in internal controls related to General accounting.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Procurement, AP,
• AR, FP&A, Statutory, and GL Reporting to gather relevant information.
• Assist in preparing data for auditors during internal and external audits.
• Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and recommend improvements.
• Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.

About you

Qualifications

• On track to graduate in 2025 with a Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field.
• Available to commit to internship via University OJT or school internship.
• Able to start August 2024 onwards.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience in Oracle cloud accounting software is a plus.
• Based in Manila Metro.

Training & development

You will be assigned a project and work directly with teams to gain real-world experience, contribute to the business, and impact the digital world. Gain practical work experience by working on real business challenges and impactful projects. Your manager, mentor, and assigned buddy will support you throughout your journey. You will also have access to resources, tools, and events aimed at supporting your comprehensive development. The internships run from 3 to 6 months depending on your location and business area.

Career progression

At the end of your internship, you will be a finalist in Equinix’s annual Shark Tank-style intern competition, where you will present your project and its business value. This will teach you a lot of great job skills, including understanding the value of what I worked on and being able to communicate that to a panel of judges. 

And, as an Equinix employee, you will work on many projects with various teams—and you will learn a lot of skills and technologies. You will attend workshops, present original research at industry conferences, contribute to a patent, and even receive a patent award. As you develop your technical skills, you will always have access and exposure to management and leadership.
